Recommended Reading: The Night Circus

I have read a lot of "twinkie" books lately. The young adult genre is full of them. They are all intense page turners without much literary value. The Night Circus was an incredibly refreshing change. It was beautifully paced -- a perfect slow burn. The landscape was one of the most vibrant that I have ever read about. I felt like I was there looking around the tents, smelling the odors of the circus, feeling the awe. The mystery unfolds steadily, without the adrenaline stabs of a fast paced teenage drama or the slow descriptive classics. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The book has one or two risque scenes. I would say it could be read by anyone 16+.
