Chicks Week 3: Jumping Up

Felicity and Ducky are both jumping up on the food and water containers now. We added a roosting pole too to keep things interesting. They seem to enjoy jumping up on it and over it too. 

Also you might notice that there is a HOLE in the box now. At 3 weeks old it was time to expand their 2 x 3 foot space to give them some more room. Now they have 2 square feet per chicken which is the recommended amount for an adult in the chicken coop.

 They like to peck everything. Any little speck or fuzzy flying in the air causes a commotion as they all rush after it.  If it gets above 60 degrees this week, we can take them outside and let them forage around in the grass a little bit.

Sally is getting feathers, but still looks smaller and fluffier than the others.

Dottie with lots of feathers. I am excited to see her pretty gold and black feathers come in eventually.
