This lovely series,
The Green Knowe, was published from 1954-1976. It is fun to read (or listen to the audio cd version, if you are multi-tasking :) Written in an imaginative, descriptive style, this is a great childrens book series for anyone who has ever wanted to live in a castle, talk to ghosts, or time travel.
