Clockworks Photos: Family Photo Shoot

Grandpop took a bunch of family pictures with new baby A too.

The man behind the camera.  Thank you Dad!
The kids asked Grandpop to take some silly pictures.  This is what they came up with:
Tough Girls!
Zombies!

Clockworks Photos: Baby A's Photo Shoot

Grandpop's wonderful photography skills at work.  I am having a terrific time trying to decide which ones I like best. They are all so cute and so sharp.

Baby A's life: Week 10

Baby A had his first swim this week. He was not too thrilled about it at first.

Then he got used to the water and did some kicking.

He is not really ready for this chewy cactus yet, but the kids have fun trying to give it to him.

Family Fun and Schooling: Campouts and More Biology

Big Sis had her first BSA social distancing hike and campout this weekend:

We went swimming at our friends' pool again this week.

It was my first time back in the water since baby A was born. It felt so good to get some laps in.

We did some experiments with yeast for science class.
We were trying to get the yeast to puff up this balloon, but I might not have left enough air space... Then we looked at yeast growing under the microscope.
I left the microscope set up this week and it was in use regularly.  We looked at salt, sugar, carpet fibers,  various bugs, and many of the slides from the pre-made boxes.

Miss L is currently into break dancing. Takes after her dad.

Also my new crepe making pan came in the mail this week! My old ones are at least 10 years old and the non-stick coating is wearing off. Plus, the kids have been cooking with them which is also hard on them.  I doubled my Frenchies' recipe and it made enough for us to each have 3 for dinner. I ran out of milk so they were a wee bit on the thick side, but still so yummy.
All that was missing were these lovely people! I wish you were here.

Farm Fresh: More of Everything

Our favorite children's book, The Seven Silly Eaters, has a section about "MORE!".  That is how I feel about things on the farm right now.  More ducklings! born this week:
More tomatoes and cucumbers! This was just Monday's harvest.
More cats hanging out in silly places - like the tractor's bucket scoop?!  He was sleeping there so the kids gave him a treat to keep him in there while they took a picture.
More pickle making!
Made 16 lbs of cucumbers into dill ferments for canning. Trying out the cherry leaf crisping method.
More dehydrating!  Tomatoes. They just keep coming and we are eating a lot, and giving some away, but we cannot let any go to waste!
And more weeding! More rain! More wood chip deliveries and spreading! More garden book reading! So much goodness.
