Family Reunion: Day 2

In the morning Uncle M set up an archery range and gave the kids a lesson. It was very well organized and tons of fun.  All the kids had a blast.  They even won some prizes with their new skills.

Even we grown-ups got a turn.  Grandmama won a dollar during her first time learning how to shoot!
We had to keep the littles kids occupied so that they didn't wander into the archery range.

Afternoon: Bubbles and water guns

We pitched our tents around the house for the first couple days.

Grandpa J fixing things as usual.

We showed Zootopia with our movie projector that night in the barn.

A Family Reunion at the Farm: Day 1

Last week we gathered at the old Myer farmhouse (built by our ancestors in the 1830s) for our family reunion. Grandmama and Grandpa J had it all planned out. Everyone brought food and supplies. Each family was in charge of various activities.  It was awesome!
 Morning - Rock painting.
With a side of candy eating...

We swung on the rope swing that makes you feel like you are flying over the corn house. I swung on it when I was a kid too. When we asked the kids what their favorite parts of the reunion were this activity was near the top of their list. They went up on the hill to swing anytime they had a spare second.

Afternoon: Water guns and swimming

A Merry Un-Birthday to our 5 Year Old

Brother M was supposed to get a party with friends when he turned 5, but we were in the middle of moving.  It was not the right timing.  He very generously agreed to wait.  And has been waiting a long time.  We finally partied with M today!

 It was a bug party...

 Bugs everywhere...

Even the kids turned into bugs from time to time

We played bug bingo.

We had a bug hunt with nets and bug jars.

The weather was perfect and people caught all kinds of bugs, including a couple butterflies.
 We made caterpillar crafts.

Brother M got some cool presents!

And cousin O was a happy participant. She is getting so big already!
